No to Lisbon

And a huge cheer for the Irish, apparently the last Free State in Europe.

Update
: according to Times Online 1,614,866 Irish voters cast their votes in the referendum, out of just over 3,000,000 registered voters.

Guido has counted the number of people in the rest of Europe who have a vote on the notaConstitution - all of 9,225.

This morning some prick of a politician on the BBC radio spoilt my breakfast, by saying how we must respect the Irish vote (done in such a way, to imply what do you expect from these cretins. Then going on to say, at the end of the year we'll have a meeting to agree how to proceed (done in such a way to imply, by the end of the year you cretins will have forgotten the Irish vote).

I'm sure they'll find a way to weasel round or through it, but it's fun while it lasts...

Hooray! hooray! But you are right, I hear the sound of weaselling as I type this.

The weasels are gnawing at your keyboard as you type, the elephant in your room is padding behind your back on four potentially useful elephant-foot umbrella stands.

Latest is "the gorilla in the corner of the room" from a review in the TLS no less. Your slowworm in the woodpile has nothing on this.
