Golos

Mandel'shtam's voice

Osip Mandel'shtam,
"No, Never, To No-One Was I Contemporary"
1924.

I tried to post here earlier but blogger seemed to be feeling a little obtuse

Ah but now it works and I have forgot what I wanted to say. Something along the lines of ...
russian looks very boxy.
I wonder how it lends itself to calligraphy?
Something along those lines.

Boxy... printed it has an (apparent) rigidity; and only because of the Latin and mechanical differentiation between CAPS ON and caps off. Handwriting is a different proposition entirely.

And decoration, I will try to find some examples.

Like I said - not flowy enough. Spoken it may sound entirely different - alas I can not vouch for that - no one has whispered sweet Russian in my ear.

I have had that pleasure, and it hits the spot. But so do many other things, including sweet Nothings.
