Slowness is Beauty

From Kubrick's "Barry Lyndon" (1975), Barry meets the Countess of Lyndon.

The interior scene is filmed by candlelight, using lenses developed by Zeiss for the Apollo moon landings.

After m'fit of the conniptions yesterday, time for a little serenity.

Ah, Barry Lyndon. a refined but slightly long winded offering from Kubrick although I haven't seen it in years. Definitely a piece of serenity after "Clockwork Orange" though.

Slowest-paced film in history, I thought, until Eraserhead. Is there an award for non-action movies?
